A graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor’s in finance, Derek Copeland has worked in the public and private sectors as an elected official, consultant, analyst, and CEO. In the private sector, Derek Copeland has utilized his expertise to pinpoint clients' needs and recommended customized real estate and wealth management solutions.
Between 1992 and 1996, Mr. Copeland served as an Elected Official at the Hillsborough County, Florida Soil and Water Conservation District. By collaborating with a board of elected supervisors, Derek Copeland implemented and educated the public on conservation best practices. As the youngest elected official in the state, this role established his dedication to bettering others.
In 1996, Mr. Copeland began his private sector career. At Accenture, his skill as a Business Process Consultant led to profit growth and streamlined operations throughout the firm. This resulted in promotions from Analyst to Senior Consultant to Manager.
From the 2000s to the late 2010s, Mr. Copeland served in multiple leadership roles at UBS Financial Services and Morgan Stanley. While managing high-worth portfolios, Derek Copeland tailored his advice to clients' risk tolerance and life goals, including retirement and estate planning. His achievements earned him President's Council positions at both firms.
Mr. Copeland also serves others through charity work. In 2014, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society named him the Man of the Year for his fundraising efforts. Derek Copeland manages the day to day operations at MCM Partners, an investment firm in Charlotte, NC focused on real estate.
